Altec crane parts
Parts for Altec cranes and boom trucks, new and used: cylinders and seal kits, boom and hoist parts, outrigger parts, rotation parts, controls and safety switches. Tell us the model and serial number and we will find the part and quote it.
Robert's Diesel Works is an independent crane parts, service and repair shop in Orlando, Florida. We are not an Altec dealer and we are not affiliated with Altec Inc. What we do is find Altec parts one unit at a time: we match the part to the model and serial number, quote it new or used, and ship it to wherever the truck is working.
Getting a price on an Altec part
An Altec part is matched to the unit it goes on, and the right part can change between serial ranges of one model. The quickest quote starts with:
- The model, as it reads on the unit's serial plate or the boom decal
- The serial number from the same plate
- The part number if you can read it, or a photograph of the part and where it sits on the unit
- Where the truck is, so we can quote the freight with the part
Call (877) 697-6272 during business hours, or send the details through the form at the bottom of this page. If you do not know what the part is called, describe what it does. A photograph of the plate and one of the part is usually enough for us to work it out.
Need a part for an Altec crane or boom truck?
Read us the model and serial number off the unit's plate, add the part number or a photograph, and we will find the part and quote it, new or used.

If it bolts onto an Altec boom truck and it is not on the list, ask anyway. Most of what we sell is found part by part, for one unit at a time.
Reading an Altec model name
Altec boom truck models are usually written as a letter code, then the capacity class, then the boom length, for example AC38-127S or AC40-152S. Read us the whole name exactly as it is on the plate, including any letters at the end, together with the serial number. The letters and the serial are what separate one version of a model from the next, and they decide which seal kit, wear pad or valve is the right one.
If the plate is missing or unreadable, send photographs of the whole unit, the boom decals and the part. The layout of the boom, the outriggers and the cylinder sizes usually narrow it down.
Altec digger derricks and bucket trucks
Our shop works on cranes and boom trucks. We are also asked about Altec digger derricks and aerial devices (bucket trucks). Many of the hydraulic parts on them are the same kind of part: seal kits, cylinders, hoses, valves and outrigger parts, and we can often source those by model and serial. Call and ask. We do not do dielectric testing or insulation certification of aerial devices; that has to stay with a qualified test facility.
New or used
Both. Seals, hoses, filters, wear pads and wire rope should be new. For an older unit, a good used cylinder, valve bank, gearbox or boom section is often what keeps the truck earning instead of parked. Tell us which you would rather have, or ask us to price both. We tell you the condition of a used part before you buy it.
Fitting the part
If the part is only half the job, bring the truck to our shop at 906 West Gore St in Orlando. We reseal cylinders, chase hydraulic leaks, sort out hoist, outrigger and anti two block faults, and repair the truck under the crane. See Altec boom truck service and repair.
Shipping
We ship Altec parts across the United States and to customers overseas, including the Caribbean and Latin America. Freight is quoted with the part, so tell us where it is going.
Common questions
Are you an Altec dealer?
No. Robert's Diesel Works is an independent shop. We are not Altec Inc., not an authorized Altec dealer and not affiliated with Altec in any way. We source Altec crane and boom truck parts by model and serial number, new and used, and we service and repair boom trucks. For factory warranty work on a new unit, go through the manufacturer.
Can I order Altec parts online?
There is no online cart for Altec parts here, because every part is checked against the model and serial number before it is quoted. Send the details through the form and we reply by phone or email with a price. Our online catalogue, the PM parts store, carries PM crane parts only.
Do you have an Altec parts manual?
We do not publish manuals on this site, and you do not need one to order: the model and serial number are what we use to identify the part. If you have the page from your own book, send a photograph of it with the item circled.
Are the parts made by Altec?
It depends on the part, and we tell you before you buy it. A quote says whether the part is new or used and whether it is the original part or a replacement made to fit.
Do you work on other boom trucks and cranes?
Yes. We service and repair knuckle boom cranes, boom trucks and the diesel trucks under them. For used cranes and crane trucks see drywallcranes.com.
